3 years ago I signed up to start a chapter of the Nuclear Policy Working Group at @ucirvine, and taking that opportunity enriched my life in so many ways!
Even though I’m no longer a student, the friends I made through the organization invite me to share in their research, projects, and events. 🛰
When @bleff311 received boxes and boxes of documents, files, pamphlets, and more from Colgate University’s Peace Program, he invited me to open them up and explore the material. I had no idea how many nonprofits and schools around the world had curriculum and programs for peace building in the Cold War era up to around 2002. Hundreds, maybe thousands of organizations! 🖤
There’s a lot going on in this world- people wanting to bring about positive change in a variety of ways. Seeing all of this effort in the form of dusty papers makes me wonder which programs were effective in their missions, and where all these people are today who started these initiatives. What can we learn from these efforts in peace building, and how can we apply them in our current global ecosystem?
I have so many questions!
