A feature I really like about this insulin pump and sensor is it has a setting that can turn off the pump if the algorithms predict a low blood sugar based on BG trend and active insulin. It’s something I used to do on my last pump as a preventative to going too low. As you can see, it has a tag “suspended before low” posted to let me know it isn’t delivering any insulin right now. Just as it predicted, I have gone low but stabilized out at 70 mg/dL because it predicted it and shut off 45 minutes earlier, with 2.5 units active, enough insulin to drop me 125 points, based on my body’s ratios and essentially sending me into a diabetic coma before killing me. The alarm is much louder at its highest setting than the 530G’s highest setting. I don’t know if the 670G has the same tones as the 530G, but I LOVED the 530G tones. The three beep tones ascended when my BG was going high and descended when going low. I’m not trained for the AutoMode yet, it’s a separate training session a couple weeks after the initial training, but I’m excited to see how that works. I don’t think I’ll use it all the time, but it will be great for long drives and times when I can’t constantly check my insulin pump graph.
