I recently received a great piece of advice from a friend and mentor, and wanted to share: When thinking about the future, especially in your 20s, don’t plan ahead. Rather, plan backward. Think about where you want to be in 10 years. Where would you like to be in your career? In your personal life? What goals and experiences do you want to fulfill? Envision you are already there, in 2028, and work backward. What would you need to achieve in the next six months, one year, five years? Do the career decisions you make today, the skills you are building today, the lifestyle and health choices you make today, the work you put in today, the people and influences you surround yourself with today, reflect the decisions of the person you aspire to be ten years from now? 💭 // Also, thanks to @usccareercenter@usc for the photos and great career and networking event!
