Wash out weather meant we didn’t venture far from home this weekend. In fact, this is as far as I went today, just popped my head out to see some end of the day sunshine! ☀️😂 So who braved the weather?! 🌧💦☔️
I’d say a quiet day was much needed though before we head into Serens first full week of school... aaaaaand I needed it to mentally prepare myself!! 🙈😜
The beams of the sun captured in beautiful marigold and calendula flowers. 🌼
Harvesting just over the peak of their blooming to dry them for making a dye later.
While we most definitely enter the new season, it’s hot and we’ve longer days, I will be working with wool a lot over the coming summer months!
A friend just told me I will receive the wool of many of his sheep next month!! The sheep happy to be done with their winter jackets, me happy for this opportunity while I don’t have my own herd yet! So soo grateful!! 🙏🏼
This means that this coming month is for making more summer goodies and working in my garden and after that comes the huge job of scouring, spinning and dyeing the gifted wool. 🌼🧡🌼
And wouldn’t these flowers make the most beautiful colour ever on wool? I think it would, don’t you?! Happy Saturday night dear IG family 🤗🌼🧡
