Mothering is definantly relentless.... I'm sitting here with a glass of wine, covered in peanut butter, rice, unbrushed hair, exhusted and trying to concentrate on MAFS (seriously if Tracey stays with Dean Im going to lose it) but also trying remind myself sometimes that there is no way to be a perfect mother but there are a million ways to be a good one. I have never been well known for my patience but I'm slowly getting better. It's been a tough, long week being home nursing a sick and teething ten month old. Most days have consisted of being followed around by a crying, grumpy, sore, tired mini me demanding to be constantly held (stage 5 clinger) who after 5 minutes decides thats enough and starts crying to be put down .... this is the game I like to call 'how many times can I make mum say ffs under her breath'.... yet I do it with a smile and kiss each time. She also cries to be feed 109 times a day yet gags or spits out everything she is offered until I finally cave and she eventually receives baby puffs for the 109th time that day....... so shes fed and not starving. I have flattened the batteries in the digital thermometer with my hourly routine observations....... that's caring and committed. One trip to emergency thinking the rash she developed was from meningitis (just a virus thankfully) .... thanks so much google, the pharmacy greets me by my first name now so that's not so bad. My bank app is telling me how much money has been spent on takeaway this week.....yeah may need to work on being a good wife once she makes a full recovery! Regardless my little spotty moody baby finds sometime each day to smile and laugh at me so I guess I'm doing ok at this mothering gig.

GROUNDING || This adulting gig can leave us feeling scattered and all over the place 🤯
Between work, parenting, events, commitments and life’s other ‘things’ it likes to throw in the mix 😆😆 we are so often carried away by sensory overstimulation leaving us craving simplicity, balance and also this little thing that is being grounded.
We all say it, but what the actual does it mean to be “grounded”? 🤨
Being grounded simply means that you are in a state of calm, at peace with your environment, and present in the moment 🙏🏼 #bliss right?
Soooo how can we achieve this?
Find a quiet place, close your eyes and take several deep breaths followed by long exhales (que “Anastasia” breathing for everyone who enjoyed the AUS/NZ Convention!)
The hour that I gift myself to just focus on my practice really does make everything else melt away making me feel a lot lighter and a lot more balanced - especially if it’s been a frantic day.
GET OUTDOORS 💫
Leave the desk behind for a walk, run or even to just sit and feeling the fresh air and the sun on your skin will make you a little more present in the moment rather than focused on to-do lists and stressing over tasks.
ESSENTIAL OILS 💫 (don’t act surprised!)
There are several that naturally calm our nervous system and assist our bodies and minds achieve homeostasis during times of stress. Using Essential Oils to become grounded is as simple as rubbing a couple drops in your hands and inhaling - you can also apply to the bottoms of your feet, back of neck and bottom of spine 👌🏼
