Whether you breastfeed or not, breast changes during PREGNANCY will affect your breast shape and size, so ‘saggy boobs’ can’t be attributed to breastfeeding. The best things you can do to keep your breasts ‘perky’ are to wear a supportive bra during pregnancy and breastfeeding (get a good nursing bra expertly fitted) and, when you wean your baby, drop feeds gradually – no more than one feed a week. This way, as well as avoiding discomfort, your breasts will regain more ‘firmness’.
Although your breasts will probably never be as ‘perky’ as they were pre-pregnancy, the important thing is to honor the amazing job your body has done sustaining life and helping grow a beautiful connection between you and your precious baby.
Some days can seem like a battle-ground between you and your toddler.
Instead of focussing on the negatives, you can bring back the love between you and your terrific toddler by doing a simple exercise.
Draw a sun (like a child’s simple drawing with a circle and sunrays) and stick it on the wall (or fridge). Each day, along the sunrays, write down the good things your toddler has done . For instance, if he tries to feed his toast to the baby, instead of being annoyed, write down ‘sharing’ .
This can help you to see your little one’s positive intentions instead of being hypersensitive to every little mistake he makes – he really doesn't get up each day thinking ‘how can I piss off my parents today?’
This ‘reframing’ and noticing the positives will help eliminate power struggles and frustration (yours). it will bring back the loving feelings between you and your toddler as your positive energy is shared and you begin to laugh and appreciate your little explorer again.
