If you find that you’re slightly intimidated by joining a gym out of fear of looking silly, not knowing what you’re doing...heres some helpful tips to get over those initial fears you have as a beginner in a healthy or active lifestyle.
➡️put on a hat & get in your bubble. Have tunnel vision to block everyone else out. Focus on only what's in front of you.
➡️wear a bluetooth headset to avoid the noise around you and any cord malfunctions you may encounter while running around and so you have full mobility in all of your exercises
➡️make a playlist of motivating songs to YOU and play on shuffle. Turn that shit up and get pumped up. Calm the nerves and turn it in to fuel. Ignore everything around you.
➡️as your finishing your last 2 sets, look around where you want to go next to avoid wandering & make smooth transitions
There’s still some days where I need to throw my hat on & refocus if I’m using an unfamiliar territory or backstage before I get on stage for my npc shows, I’ll zone out & put my music in & calm down my jitters.
If you mentally prepare yourself to just walk in & wreck house, even if you don’t know how to navigate around the gym, these tips should help you feel more comfortable as you acclimate to your new journey. With time, your confidence grows & before long you’ll be just like everyone else in the gym. Don’t let fears prevent you from obtaining your potential. Instead, conquer them, step by step! Your kids also get used to going to the gym & having a great time socializing and playing with other kids. Paisley and Ember both look forward to going daily and get excited when talking about it, what they did while they were there, they even ask to go there. Stay consistent and grow through the process together!
I love this time I have for myself where my kids are free to play and grow their little people skills in a safe environment and I can get my daily mom therapy in. Those endorphins are magic for the rest of my day! It allows me to not only work on the physical aspect of health but also the mental! Working out keeps me productive, sharp, positive, better able to handle stress, and provides me with better sleep at night!
