Day 2 of #mentalhealthawareness week at Belmont:
Things I struggle with.. taking care of myself!
I’m a high energy person, and I do often tend to prioritize work and people over rest. To some extent, it’s great to be efficient and productive. On the other hand, rejuvenation is VITAL for effective, valuable growth. With that in mind, I play by the human “triad” of mental, physical and emotional health. Every day, I make it a priority to do something for each of these categories. For example, 1) Mental: I draw something every day, whether I have client work or not. This helps me relax as well as practice skills. 2) Physical: I exercise daily, which is super key for mental clarity and self-disciple. 3) Emotional: I strive to set aside a quiet time daily to spend in the Bible, pray and note things that are happening in life. While it can be easy to set this aside, it changes the rest of the day and realigns me with my purpose on this earth. —- If you have habits you’ve committed to for your health triad, I’d love to hear about them! Let’s join together for the battle for honest living, steady healing, and ultimate joy. *
