Anemia can be common in people with RA. (As if RA isn't bad enough on its own 😑). So it's smart to incorporate iron-rich foods into your daily diet if you're an RA sufferer since iron fights anemia (and fatigue!).
Also note that dairy may reduce iron absorption in the body which will not help the situation at all. A good tip may be to make your own strawberry shake with almond milk or coconut milk next time you have an ice-cream craving. This way you avoid dairy, satisfy your sweet tooth, and load up on iron and all the other great nutrients strawberries have to offer!
Other strawberry benefits:
✧ Vitamin C
✧ Good for eyes, skin, hair, and heart
✧ Reduces inflammation
✧ High in Omega-3s
✧ Cancer fighting
✧ Boosts immunity
While talking with a friend this weekend, I had the time to speak aloud the areas in my life that feel "blocked" or the least fullfilled. I don't know why we enter the situations we do when born into this world. Perhaps they don't entirely matter!? What I do think what matters is the development of the life we choose with the tools, talents, and skills we already have. Regardless, I have always felt extremely lucky. But lately I've been carrying this "why not me" attitude. As in, why don't "big" opportunities come MY way? And as quickly as I said it, I realized a few things:
1] It's ABSOLUTELY NONE of my business to concern myself with why others have what they have. Wanting what someone else has is only going to fuel an unnecessary desire inevitably leading to a sense of "not enough". Got your eye on someone else's prize? Guess who's race your running?? Guess who's path you just fell off of?!💁🏻 2] That's 🐂💩 !!! In this last month I've had some wonderful surprises!! BIG opportunities for ME! They don't necessarily look like anyone else's successes but for me, they are steps forward. Things are manifesting right before my eyes; things I've said I wanted, coming slowly to fruition. And with that manifesting, clarity. The clarity to see that the things that I truly, wholeheartedly want, that are right for me, will not pass me, will be given to me at the right time, with the appropriate effort and energy behind them. So abandoning the need to achieve quickly and "receive" in the same manner as others, is what feels right for me. I also have to not be afraid to receive these gifts or go after them; I have to refuse to believe that these gifts from the universe "aren't" meant for me. Now that leads to something much deeper.
3] What we think, believe, and speak will drastically affect the outcomes in our lives. I realize this sounds cheesy AF and I certainly have not mastered it. However, simply put, the way in which we choose to speak about things can create an entire energy field around that particular matter... making you either receptive & open or closed off & unavailable. So, choose wisely. What is it you really want? What's your next step? 🙏🏻

Confession: I’ve also never been a pancake person. Until now 🥞 Actually, when I was little I’d always order pancakes with chocolate chips at iHop. But when I grew old enough to know better, I realized I really preferred the texture of waffles. So for a very long time I never ate pancakes. 💔
Then I started seeing all the protein pancakes and waffles on Instagram. Unfortunately I don’t have a waffle maker (though I’d like to get one eventually), and I realized how easy pancakes are if you have a good mix…like this one from @flapjacked! All you need to do is mix it with milk, pour it on the griddle, and you’re done. I’ve started to also add @bobsredmill golden flaxseed meal, @navitasorganics chia powder, and @enjoylifefoods dark chocolate chips OR @nowfoodsofficial cacao nibs 🍫. Top with a bit of real maple syrup (don’t go overboard here!) and some fresh fruit, and you have a legitimately good breakfast.
The ingredients in this are probably as good as it gets when it comes to packaged pancake mix - nothing weird, except xantham gum, which is listed last and is often present with whey powder. The rest of the ingredients are wholesome and there’s 20g protein per serving! 💪🏼A lot of people eating things like pancakes or even oatmeal for breakfast aren’t getting enough protein to start the day, so this is a really easy way to do it. There are several flavors and you can even make waffles with it, too 😉
Some stores carry it but the cheapest place I’ve found it is on @iherb, and that means you can get it pretty much anywhere in the world 🌏. So I put the product link in my bio! First-time iHerb shoppers can use my code LTZ289 at checkout for a 5% discount 😘
VEGGIE PESTO PASTA 🍝🌱excitedddd to dig into this big bowl 🙌🏼I’ve been on an @inspiralized kick lately!! Seriously - it’s my favorite kitchen tool & I highly recommend it (she also has a great YouTube channel with all kinds of recipes & how-to’s that I’m obsessed with and often watch while I cook👩🏻🍳)—> Tonight I spiralized golden beets & zucchinis then added that to leftover carrot noodles by @traderjoes then added my magical homemade pesto & mixed it all together...easy! Pesto is basically: 1 bunch parsley + 1 bunch basil + 1-2 tbsp. pecans + 1-2 tbsp. sprouted pumpkin seeds by @go_raw + splash lemon juice + olive oil (just kinda played around with the amount, started small & added more till my desired consistency👌🏼) you can make your own version with any herbs, nuts, seeds & oils you like! xo! 🌸✌🏼
