I’m so excited to get my skin clear! I was given a list of foods that will help balance the pitta in my body, I have an imbalance of Pitta, which is the main cause for my acne, it also makes sense of my moods as of late 😅 So here I am with a list of all the things I can and can’t eat, when I tell people the things on the list the first thing they say is WHAT no pineapple !! Then they say well what can you eat?! It’s funny because that thought never crossed my mind, instead I was only focused on all the foods that I could eat to help improve my skin and my mood! .
When you are looking to make a change in your lifestyle don’t look at the negatives, you instantly set yourself up for failure. Instead feel the freedom of your new choices and not the restrictions 💫 .
I’m loving that I get to try new things, like this mornings coriander seed tea 🍵
Sunday brunch @kosttoronto will be a definite hot spot as the weather gets warmer. Inside info is that the outdoor furniture is coming in tomorrow. Highly recommend the fruit bowl as an excellent shareable during brunch. As usual, it was packed today and most people were dressed to impress. #lifestylemedicine topic is about how fruits/vegetables can do wonders for you. You hear it all the time from health providers to increase fruit/vegetable intake but it is nice to have solid evidence behind it. A 2014 study published in the British Medical Journal concluded that each serving of fruit/vegetable was associated with a lower risk of all-cause mortality. The above mentioned study, along with the EPIC study in 2011 and the China study in 2016 all concluded that those that had fresh fruit daily had decreased risk for cardiovascular death, stroke and heart attacks. The association of fruits/vegetables with cancer prevention is less robust. #sports topic is ‘Game 7’ is the best two words in sports! #tvshow@sho_homeland season finale should be good!

Is there anything more satisfying than cutting into a poached egg and seeing the perfectly runny yolk?
We all know you boys and girls trying to get lean off egg whites are missing out on the best part - the gooey, delicious egg yolk. Literally. The yolk is full of choline which is good for brain health. And I'm all about brain health.
What is choline? In chemistry terms, it's a salt. It's an essential nutrient. It's essential for your brain to work it's best. Research shows it improves mental performance - reaction time, reasoning, memory and general functioning.
Citicoline, which is synthesised from choline and can be taken as a supplement, is used to treat Alzheimer's and traumatic brain injury. How powerful is that? 🥚🍳 #brainbodymind

A lot of people are still afraid of fats. They don't know how to differentiate between naturally occuring and beneficial for the body and the man-made and not so good in large quantities. 🥑
So, they simply put them all in one category: FAT. And then they lock that category away and do not touch it because if it's fat on the plate, it's gonna be fat on them! 🧀
Guys, things aren't quite like that. We need fat! All cells in our body need fat.
Ladies, our hair and skin depend on fat to look good and be healthy. 💁
Moms, your kids brains need fatty acids to develop properly. 👦
Guys, fat makes the food taste so much better! 🥘
Fat must be part of our diet! Learn to pick the good ones and never be afraid of fat again!
When investing your whole self into something you think you ‘should’ is most likely going to lead to losing motivation and giving up. To make long-lasting positive change or to do something extraordinary it has to come from a internal want or a need. So next time you start something new ask yourself do I want or need to or am I doing it because I think I should? Share your thoughts 👇💛 #healthcoach@heidi_jones_coaching
