W7 - Final Week Before The Cut Begins!
The past 10 weeks I have focused on building as much lean muscle mass as I possibly can to prepare my body for the final 6 weeks leading up to competition. This ensures I look as shredded and as big as possible when I hit the stage! This final week before I begin to gradually cut... I'm putting it all on the line!!! No holding back... every ounce of me will be poured out!!! And I encourage each one of you that reads this post to do the exact same thing!! It may not be a competition you're preparing for but you have passion... you have a dream and you have everything is takes... all you need is the belief!!! Team... put it all on the line and give life everything you got... dont hold back!!! Leggggoooo!!!!! 💪🏼👊🏼

✨That 5 o’clock shadow though. For flexing 💪🏼😉
I had a great shoulder and calves lift today. Keeping my diet on point has definitely been reflecting more gains in the gym. After a long day of work I still train with high intensity and get it done. 👊🏼 Not every day/workout is perfect, but I try my best to get the most out of each one. I hope everyone is having a great week so far and working towards their goals! 😎🥗

Now to address the elephant in the room: why triathlon? After getting back from Asia sick as a dog and with my final year at SC ahead of me, I never felt more lost and hopeless. I had luckily started running earlier that year, but it became too repetitive and hard on my body to do everyday. I luckily had a few friends on the USC Triathlon Team that convinced me to join, even though I had no idea how to properly swim or bike. I’ll never forget my first swim practice when I swam from one end of the pool to the other and was holding onto the wall gasping for air. The first time I got onto a road bike I instantly fell so far behind everyone that it could not be more embarrassing and discouraging, but the important part was that I finished the ride and never stopped trying. I had to work twice as hard as everyone else since my body was internally at war while I was trying to figure out how the hell I was going to manage finishing my first triathlon in a few months. I luckily had my run somewhat down to give me that confidence I needed and I went to every single practice no matter how I felt. I started seeing improvements each week and it gave me the strength I needed in such a dark, difficult time in my life. When I finished my first triathlon, I had never felt so happy and invincible and I immediately became addicted. I competed with the SC Tri Team for 2 years and even got chosen to represent them at USAT Collegiate Nationals in Clemson, South Carolina. I will forever be grateful for stumbling upon the sport that changed my life and has shown me that I’m capable for so much more than I ever imagined. Chronic illness or not, I am ready to show the world what I’m made of 💪🏽
