🎶 I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22! 🎶
This past year has been a REAL emotional journey. A year of acceptance, patience, knowledge, wisdom, but most importantly self love! I toast to my 21 year-old Kevin, and thank him for the experiences he has put me through. For unlocking doors which I never even knew were there, and showing me the light at the end of the tunnel. Now at 22 I can totally say I am stronger than last year. My Peruvian 22 year-old self, let’s see what journey awaits us. Don’t forget to always remain optimistic and humble for all your accomplishments. 😌💕 #CantWait#Excited#Denim#Birthday#Photography#Selfie#Journey#SelfLove
Finished my first week of nursing school this evening! I feel extremely happy and blessed with the beginning of this journey! I like the material, my classmates, the professors, and the school! Learning to make beds, put PPE on and bath/change and position patients may not seem overly exciting...but I sure am happy. I’m happy with only having to go to school 3 days a week which is allowing me to stay working full time with my best friend. I know at times it will be hard and frustrating but I’m beyond ecstatic with where I am in life. I never imagined being here but I truly feel I am exactly where I am supposed to be! I can’t wait to be a licensed practicing nurse, but I am going to enjoy the process as it comes and stay positive with the whole experience! :)
Todd McFarlane did an episode of Blueprints with Complex where he credited a lot of his artistic and entrepreneurial success to his immaturity. He said in that interview with Complex that when he meets people like Steven Spielberg, he picks up on a boyish charm and enthusiasm in their personalities that he credits to their success as well.
It’s the mischievous twinkle in their eye. The excitability in their smile. The optimistic reaction to adversity.
No matter what day and age you look at or where you’re from the most curious and enthusiastic people in the world are children.
We’ve all been in that headspace where everything is new and awe inspiring. Where you are happy to fail hundreds of times to finally learn how to walk or talk. Where you become obsessed with story characters that teach you how to be noble. Where you’re not afraid to fall and get up again. Where you want nothing more but to ask questions and search for answers...
That level of excitability, enthusiasm, and curiosity...hold onto that as you age because trust me, it will serve you well for the rest of your life 😉
PS this week’s podcast ep is going to be fucking 🔥
