#powertothepeople in my humble estimation the #BlackPantherParty (not the movie) was the biggest threat to the #white#racist power structure ever. Their emphasis on #education#freebreakfast bearing arms and a disciplined approach to assembling in public and chanting made #Hoover hate them and unfortunately destroy them. #COENTELPRO I always say u kno u r a threat to the system when they attack, infiltrate and destroy. ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✨✨✨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I loved the breakfast program, the newspaper, the teachins!!! Today marks the 52nd anniversary of the Black Panther Party, founded by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale as college students.
We would like to honor the life and legacy of one of BPP's youngest heroes, Fred Hampton. In Chicago, Hampton was responsible for founding the Rainbow Coalition in May 1969, which consisted of members of the Young Lords, Students for a Democratic Society ("SDS"), the Brown Berets, and the Red Guard Party.
His ability to unite all of these struggles was essential to building people's power through solidarity. “You can kill the revolutionary but, you can't kill the revolution ..."

I'll admit, earlier in life I wasn't well informed about the Black Panther party. It wasn't until later in life I saw the movie "Panther". And it was much later I read the book "Revolutionary Suicide" by Huey P. Newton, the founder of BP that I began to see the value, struggle and lost this group faced in order to better Black America. Here's to 50 years! #blackpantherparty#hueypnewton#powertothepeople
From Assata Shakur to Elaine Brown to Fredericka Newton, S.O.U.L. Sisters honors the legacy of our elders and ancestors that founded the Black Panther Party on October 15, 1966. At a young age I inquired about the legend of some of these names. I knew I had heard of The #BlackPantherParty, & the name Huey P. Newton, but I knew there wasn’t much that I could tell you. I couldn’t really go into detail about any of it. So, I began to expand my mind & I wanted to read the stories that personally came from these legends, & I did. These are all apart of my personal library at home that I genuinely refer back to often throughout the years.
A personal favorite of mine happens to be, “The Autobiography of Assata Shakur.” It wasn’t until then when I not heard these famous words, but felt them & understood them. “It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other. We have nothing to lose, but our chains!” ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
