Hi everyone. I am honored to be hosting this week’s NANPA Instagram account takeover. Here is another fun photo and story for about my time with bears in Alaska, which I hope will inspire you to get out to shoot, try some new techniques or explore a new location. McNeil River Bears
Photographing brown bears in McNeil River State Game Sanctuary was one of the most special moments I have had with wildlife. The photography was fantastic, the bear viewing was exceptional and the remoteness was divine. Accessing McNeil River is by a lottery and permit, with visits being limited to four days and ten people per four-day block. These two bears decided they wanted to fight over the same fishing hole pretty much in front of our group. They never hurt each other but rather growled a bit. This photo was captured at f8.0, 1/3200 sec, ISO 1250 on a Nikon D4s and Nikon 500mm lens with a 1.4 teleconverter for 700mm.
