⭕️ Flat Bench Press tips and cues
✅- Actually perform this exercise with a decent load rather than focusing on "squeezing" every rep to simply get a pump.
✅- Retract your scapula prior to lifting.
✅- Control the eccentric
✅- Drive and focus on extending through the elbow as opposed to focusing on simply pushing and getting the weight up.
✅- Progressively overload at a controlled and calculated rate that allows for the maintenance of optimal form.
✅- Use the cue of driving your bicep into your chest upon extension of the elbow.
✅- Establish and utilise a consistent grip placement. I personally suggest placing your hands a thumb width wide of the centre ring/metallic grip but of course each bar is different.
